Cock-A-Doodle-Who?

Hehehehe!!! When we take out Sarah's ponytail holder, her hair still holds its position in a "mohock" and she looks like....well...a rooster! Or a peacock! Its too funny!! She wouldn't cooperate for a "good" picture with her funny hair, so I had to settle for this!

Sorry to laugh at you baby girl, but it IS funny!!!

Spring has Sprung!

Spring is so early this year! Maybe its because its been 80 degrees and sunny for 2 weeks? Hum..... It rained on Wednesday night and since then, everything has REALLY turned green and the flowering trees are out of control! Our orange tulips are blooming (you can see those in the post below about Beth) and our dogwoods are also in full bloom. I love it! Here is a picture of our GORGEOUS pink crabapple tree that we "share" with our neighbors - you can see all the pretty redbud trees in the background, too -

I LOVE spring - especially a WARM spring!!

4 Year Old Stats/Update

We had our first appointment with our new pediatrician today for Beth's 4-year-old check-up and shots (3 of them!). She is 38 lbs and 42.5 inches tall! She is right in the middle of the pack for weight, but in the 95th percentile for heighth! She's always been tall, but goodness, the child HAS GOT to slow down eventually, right? Thankfully its shorts/capris season, otherwise, I'd have to buy her a whole new pants wardrobe in size 5! The good news from the appointment is that we really liked the doctor and I'm so glad to have one I like after 2 years of an AWFUL pediatrics office and different doctors/nurse practioners every time we went. Ugh! Also - no more shots for Beth till before 6th grade, which the nurse proudly told me would be in 2014! WOW - that sounds SO far away!!!

Well, here is the proud 4 year old this morning before heading out the door for the day:
Gosh, they sure grow up fast. Ho hum.....

Beth's Special Day

Each child at Nursery School has a "Special Day." Its USUALLY close to their birthday. Its a "day" (2 hours) that is ALL ABOUT THEM! The whole class gets to go and/or do whatever that child wants to do that day. Yesterday was Beth's special day. She wanted to play in the backyard! So, all 15 3-year-olds and the 2 teachers came to our house and they played in the dirt, planted flowers, swung on the swing and played in the castle! I served "dirt and worms" for snacktime and "bug juice" to go along with the whole backyard theme! They were all SO WORN OUT when they left and the daycare director reported that all who stay for daycare, took good naps yesterday! I'm so glad it was a big hit!

Her teacher telling the story of when Beth was born and what her favorite things are:

The whole class singing "You are Special" while she stood in the middle of the circle:

Everyone enjoying playing in our backyard!

And our oh-so-yummy snack of Dirt and Worms!!

FUN DAY!

Sarah is 11 Months Old!

I just realized yesterday that Sarah was turning 11 months old today and I only had TWO pictures of her from the entire month! She was sick 3 out of the last 4 weeks, so she wasn't feeling very photogenic, I guess. So, to savor the last few moments of month 10, I snapped some fun ones last night...

Its "Mrs. S"

WILD WOMAN!!

Getting Beautiful.....for bedtime!

I'll be writing about her 1 year birthday soon....ugh!
OH - and I'm officially declaring Sarah "BIB FREE!" The drool has FINALLY CEASED!

I can't believe Beth is FOUR!!

Okay, so I'm 2 days late writing this, but its been a busy weekend!

Where did the last 4 years go? I remember the day I had Beth like it was yesterday. I can still VIVIDLY picture the hospital room, the nurses, their voices, the conversations I had with doctors, my mom, my dad, Bob.....I remember that UK won the SEC Tournament while I was in labor and that the TV never went off....and the next thing on TV I remember seeing was That '70's Show at 10:30 p.m. four hours after my csection surgery!! I remember the layout of the room to the inch, I remember the icecream and cranapple juice I ate and drank after she was born and thinking they were crazy when my breakfast showed up the next day with COFFEE! I remember the view from my hospital room and that when we arrived at the hospital, it was the warmest day of the year so far and the L&D floor didn't have working air conditioning! I remember carrying Beth out of the OR on my chest and feeling her breath against my check and inspecting every single toe and finger and Beth had such cute bright red lips and such fat cheeks!
I also remember that she screamed bloody murder the entire first night! Needless to say, it was a memorable night that neither Bob nor I will ever forget!

I remember when she turned 1 and crammed the entire cupcake into her mouth and loved every single bite! She had cute little curls in her hair at age 1!

I remember trying to teach her to walk at the beach and in our yard and she "got it" just a few days after we got home from the beach.

I remember her first tailgate party at a UK Football game and it was the first time she had apple juice and she ran up and down the hotel hall like a crazy girl and it took FOREVER to get her asleep! I remember making the move to Kentucky when she was 21 months old and living with my mom and dad for 4 months...and celebrating her 2nd birtday there.

I remember moving into the house I grew up in and seeing Beth enjoy her new backyard, her new bedroom and her new big girl bed. I remember trying so hard not to scare her when the flood hit our house. I remember Bob trying so hard to save all her toys and clothes (which he did cause the water never got that high, anyway!). I remember our first Christmas in Kentucky and being so thankful to be "home" (and being pregnant with Sarah, too!).

I remember just like it was yesterday, having her 3rd birthday party at our house! I remember when it finally got hot enough to put the little pool in the backyard and the sprinkler up and watching her bounce around the backyard all smiles! I remember the first day of her 3-year-old Nursery School and how she was SO excited to go to "school!"

And that puts us here - 4 years old. WOW - time flies!

And this one isn't from her party, but its a good one from when Bob and I gave her the new BIKE on her birthday-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!!

Its FUNDRAISING season!

Its that time of year again - Consignment Sale time, the fundraiser for Beth's Nursery School. We start setting up this Friday and we don't stop for 8 more days!! I think I wrote down that I work 55+ hours during the sale - I'm sure it will be more. Needless to say, I probably won't be updating much online in the next 2 weeks (like I update that often anyway - sorry!)

No new pic's of the girls. Sarah was sick all weekend, followed by Beth. With nice weather this week - I'll try to snap some cute pictures of 'em outside!

Beth turns FOUR next Friday. FOUR! When did that happene?!?!? I think we've decided to have a small family party the Sunday after her Bday. I'm still contemplating......

Ugh - Rotavirus...and WALKING!

Well, after three days of Sarah having "tummy problems" we finally determined it is probably the dreaded Rotavirus, that we were informed she was exposed to at daycare earlier this week. So, Sarah and I have been at home since Wednesday. She is surviving on a diet of Gerber Liquidlytes, applesauce, bananas and Cheerios. She has no interest in anything else, but desperately wants her milk. Both times we've been brave enough to try it, we regretted it, so needless to say...no milk for a WHILE longer!

I've been told there is now a vaccine for Rotavirus, but Sarah is already too old for it and was too old for it already when it came out. Bummer...I would have paid a LOT for it to not have gone through what she has had to endure these last few days.

The bad news - the length of Rotavirus is 3-9 DAYS! We are on day 3...so, we shall see. Bless her heart.....

In other news....I don't think Sarah is officially WALKING, as crawling is still her desired mode of transportation, but she has taken 3-4 consective steps several times this week. Its usually moving towards something she wants, like me (or the TV remote!). I will declare her WALKING when she is choosing to WALK instead of crawl around. :-) I'm sure that will be soon enough, as her confidence is developing rapidly!
